This first floor extension to a traditional cottage was built in timber frame to reduce construction time and avoid issues of building a new, well insulated structure onto an existing cavity wall dating from the 1970s. The contract was completed on time and on budget, eight months after the first sketches were drawn. The client’s priorities were for the design to repeat the existing extension and to stay dry on the ground floor during construction!
